เรามีโลกเพียงหนึ่งใบ เป็นที่ที่เหมาะสมในการดำรงชีวิต ในระบบสุริยจักรวาลนี้ “ดาวโลก” เป็นดาวเคราะห์ที่เอื้อต่อการดำรงชีวิตเพียงดวงเดียว ท่ามกลางความมืดมิดมากมาย และความไม่รู้อีกนับไม่ถ้วน
เราคือความเป็นได้ที่น่าอัศจรรย์ ทั้งตำแหน่งของดวงดาว สนามแม่เหล็กโลกที่ปกป้องเราจากลมสุริยะ ทั้งชั้นบรรยากาศที่เหมาะสมจากแรงโน้มถ่วงที่มากพอจะดึงดูดก๊าซต่างๆ ไว้ ทั้งการหมุนเวียนของแร่ธาตุ เหล่านี้ล้วนเอื้อให้เกิดสิ่งมีชีวิต และเป็นสิ่งมหัศจรรย์ที่เราอาจลืมไปแล้ว

This line is from a speech by Christina Koch, one of the astronauts of the Artemis II mission, delivered during a press conference welcoming the crew back to Earth.
As April 22 marks Earth Day, her words invite us to pause and reflect. We have only one Earth. In our solar system, it is the only planet capable of supporting life, surrounded by vast darkness and countless unknowns.
Our existence is truly extraordinary. From the Earth’s position in space, to its magnetic field that protects us from solar winds, to an atmosphere held in place by gravity, and the continuous cycling of nutrients that sustains life, all of these are conditions that make life possible. They are wonders we may have long taken for granted.
It is time to seriously reflect on the consequences of our actions today. Whether it is war, large-scale developments that destroy ecosystems, or the overuse of finite resources for the benefit of only a few, these actions are harming the environment, the planet, and all life that shares it.
